Everyday, in our communities we encounter problems from gang violence to drug abuse to teen pregnancy.  Many of us have wished at one time or another that we could do something about these problems.  Perhaps you  have found yourself in a situation that you felt powerless in or unable to control.

Education and knowledge is the best way to combat crisis situations. Many teens are not even aware that there are resources available that dedicate themselves to helping those in crisis.  Many feel that they are alone and that no one understands what they are going through.

Now there is something you can do.

Choose an issue that you feel is threatening your community.  Voice your opinion about this issue.  Your peers want to know what you think.  Educate them on this issue by providing facts, statistics and true stories that will help people realize the gravity and dangers of this problem.  List possible solutions to this problem and resources that teens can turn to for help.  In this way, you will be providing a service to anyone who has encountered this issue.

By creating a web page that will reach out to the youth in your community, you will be providing a resource for teens to turn to for help.  You have the power to educate, instruct, and possibly save someone in crisis.
