My Aunt Luzby Christine VenzorMy mother, with the saddest face I have ever seen, came to me and put her hand on my shoulder. She was wearing her hair up, and she had no makeup on her red face. She was still in her matching pajamas. “I have devastating news, your aunt has cancer. Not only does she have cancer, but she found out about it too late and may not survive it.” I was in complete shock, tears ran down my cheek. I walked into the hospital seeing everyone with their heads down; I went directly to her, took her hand impatiently, shaking. Her hand was as cold as ice. Wearing a blue hospital dress, looking drained, she blinked her eyes very weakly, very slowly. She had no hair, it gave me chills looking at her, I was scared. Her body was very still, it looked paralyzed. I was in shock seeing her so helpless not moving one bit. We picked up our heads as we heard the doctor entering the room, nodding his head with much regret he said, “It’s not good news; she has passed.” My aunt Luz passing away was about five years ago, I will never forget it. It was the most emotional event that has happened to me.
