CHOICES

I remember this one girl that had a good life ahead,
but got with the wrong man
That only wanted to get in her bed.

He told her that she was the only important thing in his world,
then a year later she found out
that she wasn’t the only girl.

She found the girl’s name and address in a pair of his pants,
and when she got there she saw them
kissing and holding hands.

The pain and betrayal made her feel like she was about to blow,
she began to call her cousins but stopped
because she saw them headed towards the door.

She went home and cried because she felt
like she did something wrong to her man,
and when he got there he found her dead with a note in her hand.

It said “Baby, I’m sorry for ever bringing negativity to you,
I hope you forgive me
And that you feel the same way too.”

He began to cry, picked up the gun and shot himself in the head,
and when he hit the floor
the girl got off the bed.

She stood over him and said in one of her satisfied voices,
"you should think twice before ever
making unforgivable choices."
